As I sail past the cliffs of Valdez and Galiano islands I sketch madly the shapes I see. When I get back to my studio I construct my abstracts, putting my shapes back together in an imaginery scape. Sailboats, people, symbols, numbers, flowers and foliage all intermingle creating intrigue. It is fun to discover new things in this painting. The painting extends around all sides so no framing needed.
