I was listening to a song of this very name by No Doubt and felt that it spoke to me. There is so much underneath our exteriors that is only seen by our closest friends and family.
"You see the colors in me like no one else
and behind your dark glasses, you're
You're something else
And you're really lovely
Underneath it all"...
This cheerful garden of quirky flowers is incredibly cute and joyful, guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. It looks like a lively bunch of excited friends casually hanging out together—a truly happy and delightful group.
When I receive a bouquet from my not so secret admirer (Dave) I keep it in my studio to paint. This one had a tulip in the middle of a variety of other flowers. I couldn't help thinking that they are all better together. Thus the name.
In this lively abstract painting, I set out to capture a lightness and delicacy in the flowers. The stems rise up from the deep below, revealing their vibrant flowers at the top. With exuberance, they reach skyward, eager to catch the sun's rays in a playful dance.
Recently, I attended a symphony orchestra and noticed a striking resemblance in the creative process to my own paintings. The notes, tones, and instruments served as the palette, while the conductor skillfully brought everything together. I truly appreciated the analogy. Here is my symphony, featuring an array of colors, shapes, and textures in an abstract floral composition.
I have a strong affinity for wildflowers. There's a certain untamed essence about them, a resilient attitude that says, "I'll thrive here regardless of any obstacles." I find that captivating. Wildflowers possess a unique identity of their own. My perspective on them is expressed through a vibrant and abstract energy.
