Striving to catch the movement and emotion in the ocean is always my goal. I used an interplay of blues, blacks and whites to create a dynamic energy in this painting. Occasional hints of reds and yellows peek through to provide warmth and contrast against the cool palette.

Endless expanse. This is the feeling I try to expose when I paint my seascapes. This one has a landscape feel as well. Depends what you want to see. I painted around the edges so the painting can be approached at all angles.

The surface of the ocean is the focus of this little painting. Bubble like shapes come to the surface in a joyful dance.

We travel to other places and enjoy the excitement of something new but I'm always glad to return home. Home is where I hear the waves hit the shore.

The gap is a constant calling to me as I see it from my studio window and it has a metaphorical meaning to us. Passing through the gap on our sailing voyages indicates we are on holiday and ready for adventure at sea. The shoreline along the way to the gap is part of the journey.

The continuous ebb and flow of the ocean give me a comforting sensation. This artwork intimately captures that experience, immersing you directly into its depths. The texture, when observed up close, offers intricate details.

Once you ride the swells you never forget. I painted this in memory of this feeling while circumnavating Vancouver Island in Take Five our 30" Nonsuch sailboat. We were alone out there most of the time and we got so excited to see other sails on the horizon.

Mountains and sky merge seamlessly in this dynamic yet peaceful abstract painting. Inspired by the view from my studio, I captured the essence of the mountain range meeting the sea under a vibrant, layered sky of soft blues. I painted around the edges, allowing the artwork to be appreciated from any angle.

This painting captures serenity with its soft blues and whites. It feels like I'm standing on the beach, looking out toward a peaceful island on the horizon, with gentle seafoam adding to the calm.

I love seeing sails on the horizon. In my abstracted way they are almost a faint reminder that they were once there. Below the sea dances this way and that acting as the stage for the scene I see over and over again.

When we are out sailing we love to poke along the shoreline looking at all the details the coastal waters and islands have to offer. This painting is indicative of what we see out there.

Every morning I look out towards Keats Island and see the sun rise. On special days the sun makes the hill look like its about to burst into flames. It is awe inspiring and I am grateful to see it.

"Here Now" captures a moment where the vastness of the sky meets the earth below. The dominant feature of the painting is the expansive pale blue sky, stretching out across the canvas, evoking a sense of tranquility and openness.

There is something special about waking up to a sunny day where the surface of the water mirrors how I feel.

Most mornings I witness a sunrise over Keats Island. The pinks, reds and yellows flare for a very short time before its gone but I'm grateful to have seen it.

Living by the sea proves endlessly captivating, given its ever-changing rhythm. Constantly in a fluid state, it has the mesmerizing ability to induce a trance-like experience.
