A wild garden comes to life through my spontaneous lines and playful shapes. It’s a tangled, joyful mix—part floral, part abstract code—telling a story that’s felt more than read. This one really let loose.

In this lively abstract painting, I set out to capture a lightness and delicacy in the flowers. The stems rise up from the deep below, revealing their vibrant flowers at the top. With exuberance, they reach skyward, eager to catch the sun's rays in a playful dance.

Hoping for a emotional response, I placed the soft stems together to invoke a sense of togetherness and love. The yellow background comes forward to claim its space and to keep the abundance contained.

While out in the garden, head down digging out weeds, I felt a small bit of wind lift my hair. It was ever so soft but made the flowers shift a little to the right. The wind was having fun with us in a gentle and graceful way. Gust" captures that moment for me.

I've taken care to paint the sides of the canvas, eliminating the need for framing.

When I receive a bouquet from my not so secret admirer (Dave) I keep it in my studio to paint. This one had a tulip in the middle of a variety of other flowers. I couldn't help thinking that they are all better together. Thus the name.

The tilt-a-whirl ride at the carnivals in my youth was one of my and my sister's favorite rides. I can hear our screams of delight in this little painting as we shared some happy out-of-control fun.

This small floral started with lots of colour but slowly it became almost black and white with a hint of pink and yellow. The vase is exquisite! As I say, it's all in my head.
